The image on the right is a single frame from a digital video taken during a GDA range test. The open-air explosion in the background is some 50 metres away.

The window was the baseline condition for the tests. It used to contain standard tempered glass with no lamination, window film or anchoring protection. The glass is now travelling at an estimated 30 feet per second

These tests exposed windows to various blast shocks to test window film and framing systems. More pictures are available in the photo gallery.

GDA undertook the tests on behalf of FrameGard Anchoring Systems Limited. To find out more about these range tests, visit their website.
